December the 26th /63
Dear sister I this day take my pen in hand to
write you a few lines to let you no that I am
well at this time hoping those few lines will
come to youre hand and find you and the baby
and all the rest of the family well and doing
well I hant any thing of importance to write
to you as this time more than I would like to
see you all the best in the world yesterday was
Christmas or they tell me it was though it
did not seam much like Christmas to me
it was a very [????] I got a Pass
and went to [see?] W.O. Dunn and got
Williams clothing that you sent by him
I got 1 shirt 2 par of socks & one pare of
Gloves & one pare of half soles & 2 twists of
Tobacco & a stran of pepper and thar was
a letter in one pare of the socks and I dont no
what to do with them without I ceap them
and pay you for them for William ant
her to git them himself turn and read
