Biography:
Henry Athey (b. ca. 1809) was the younger brother of William Athey, both born in South Carolina. Henry's son, J.B., was born in Alabama, served in the 15th Battalion, Alabama Partisan Rangers (later merged into the 56th Regiment Alabama Partisan Rangers) and died at Columbus, Mississippi in 1863 from measles.
