C.O. K. 22 Ala Regt. September 11th 1864

Sister I have just recieved yow kind an most welcom letter which bore the
date of.29 of august which gave me grate satisfaction to heare that you all
was well sister I have nothing of importants to wright at the presant more
than we aire resting some at this time we will be very apt to rest about
eight or ten days longer before we have aney more fiting to do we have
of ten days heare in this airmey I would be the gladest in the world if we
world never have aney more fiting to do. I was glad to hear that you had
heard from champion and Lacy I saw a letter from that companey yesterday and
it said the boys was all well You stated in your letter that papa was acoming
up heare after the weather got alittle coole if Iunderstand it wright the
letter was

I seea Green Wilson some times and warren Athey has one brother well I
heard from George awhile ago if papa comes up heare I want him to bring me
a paire of shoes and if he very long he may bring me
too pairs of socks some paper and envelops and a dollars worth of
s[t]amps I want them if he comes right away fur I am out he can bring aney thing
to Green if beck wants to snd it he can be found any time rashens is not as
plentiful as tha have bin I will close by saing these few lines leaves me

papa can bring any thing fur me to eat that he got it intime that I cant caried
much with me but if I had aney thing on hand and was to get orders to move
I cood get the money fur it and by again if I cood find aney thing to by
Some potatoes and late apples would be bery actedable and a of bacon fur we
dont get any bacon and the beeaf is very dry and tuff
