Dear Brother I seat my Self
this morning to write you afew lines to
let you no that I am well at presant
and I hope when these few lines com to
hand thay may find you all injoing
the same blessing we are all well as
comon generley through our company, We
arrived here yestaday about 2 oclock PM
and we was very hungry and wered for
we had fasted ever sinc the evaning of
the 7th but we had a very good brekfast
this morning our fair will be beter
here after, a while any how.
You said you wanted [me] to be with you
to graft corn , I am goin to graft
Old Abe befoor I take my station at
hom, tell all the inquiren to write to
me if there be any, and let me no how
thay are getting on with the girles in
that neighborhood.
Tell Miss Mildred Yates to write to
me and let me no how she is getting on
with the gentelmen, tell cousen W. Boo[ker?]
to write , I was glad to here that you ware

got a leter from home yestady and thay ware

we will never com back but you may
be mistaken for I dont count on nothing

I was Surprised yestad to here of our goveners [2]

and to of our Regment companys started
yestaday to bring him here thay will
arive here to day, or is looked for
he dide at the Sulfer Springs in Petersburg
I wont to go and kill Old Abe and
com back home and mary the b[??]
of Chatham and then I will be as
free as any body.
I am now in a hurey for Carles
yates is here an his wife wants to

them, Cousen Mary Ann said she wanted
to see us. I am goin up in toun
to see them now, he sed thay ware
