Camp Fisher V. A. January 19th 1862
Dear Friend
As Thom and Wiliford is writing
to you I thought I would write a fiew to let you
know that I am still on the land a mong the living
These lines leaves me well, and Doing well.
I have nothing of Interest to write for we cant
get any nuse here only what you all write
I under Stand that they had a fight in Kentucy
and our me[n] whiped them Badley also a fight
at a little town Just a bove Winchester I do not
know the name of Our men also whiped them
there and taken a good eal of Clothing. This is
the rumer here. There was Some very heavey firing
the other night down at Eavins port but have
not heard the result of it Day before the firing
took place We Captured a Small Scooner then
but have not heard what it was loadin wth
I wish I had something to write that would
Interest you I recon Thos has writin all the
nuse So I deam it unnessessary to write any
more for you will be puseld [1] to read this I will
Come to a close Give my love to your wife and
all Enquiring friend Yours Untill Death
