NC Wake Co February the 24 1863.
Dear Brother I Seat my Self to
inform you that I an rufus is
well at presant hoping when those few
lines comes to hand they may find
you an famely all well and doing
well I have nothing of interst to
write at present I should like to
See you veary much and I should
like beter to bee at your house
to See all of my oald acquance
I dont get much to eat here
and you know that that dont Suit
me. I want you to write to
me as soon as you get this
and give me all the news
for I have nothing to write
the helth is not as good as
it has ben at this place
give my love to all inquiring
frinds if any tell all
the children howdy for
me I remain yours &c.
