I this morning Seat my
Self to rite you a few lines
to let you no that I am not
very well to day I hope when
those few lines Coms to hand
they may find you all
well Satisfide I have got
a very bad Cold Wee have
fine times her plenty
to eat and plenty to wair
and nothing to do but wee
have not got any girls to
hug wee do not get to sea them
let alone git to hug them
but wait until wee git
home then wee will
have Som more fun
with the girls

on picket to day but I
didnot go with them Joil
is gon with them and
I thought I would rite you
a letter wee are in old
virginia near manasses
Junction at this time and
I dont no wher the yanks
is I dont her much talk
of them now I dont no
whether wee will stay
her this winter or not
thir is Som talk of us
a moving back to old
North Calina which
I hope wee will if wee
do maby thir will be
som Chance of us Coming
home to sea you all O
