petersburg va november the 25 1864
Dear father I again seat my Self
to drop you a few lines to let you
know that I am well hopen those
lines ma sune reach yore kind hand
and find all of you well I hant
got any nuse to rit to you as I
hant had a letter from home in some
time I am gitting vary anshis to
hear from home I hant had a letter
from home sence the deth of [brother?]
[????] onley a little [??] that was in
his so if you rite I dont git them
I no that I rit ever weak well we
drad money and I drad fifty dolers
of my bounty and som wages and
with all that I drad and what I
had and som of me tha [???] me
and it all makes me hav one hundred
and 24 dolers that I hav got
in my pocket and if you want
any money I will send you
