Ever Dear Mother.
With much plaisure
I seat my self to night to write you a few
lines to inform you that I and Brother
has this day bought and put in to Mr
Gurganious,s hand the following goods Viz
one Block Cotten, 4 lbs Coffee, 4 l[?]s Sugar,
4 Handrer chiefs two for you one each for sisters
1 Hood for you to ceap your head warm,
3 lbs Snuff. 2 bottles Pain Killer. 2 of Batemans
drop. 1 Spool cottin, 2 cakes of perfumed
soap, also Some common Soap, one pack envelopes
1 Quire letter paper, 1 paper of pins, one box Pens
1 ¼ bushel Salt. I also paid mr Gurganious Seven
dollas for for his trouble he charged 4 ½ dollars
but I thought it was not a nough. I will, or we,
send you some Flour as soon as we can if the
Lord will so for us to do also we will send you
some peper next time when you write again
let us know the thing you need and wee will
get them if we can what we sent to day does
not make much show yet our bill was between
35 and 40 dollars [1]

It is a great plaisure to us to be blessed
with an opertunity to Send you any thing
the only thing is we Can not send as much
as we wish nor Can we think of the affe
cts which you need worst. I requested Mr
Gurganious to advance you Some money
if you needed any and I would settle with
him so if you need any let him know
then write me the Sum advanced
and I will Settle all. Through the mercy
of the Lord I am in the best of health
and so was Brother yesterday. Thant Velvet
I did not Get the reason why Mr G –
will tell you, as to knives they are
very high from two to two and a half
dollars for one any acount in pen knife
Shape. So I will close hoping this will
find you in good health surounded by
the mer cy of the Gracious and Good
Lord So I remain Your affectionate
