Friend Sam
I received your letter last
Night I think that I will
not have that fixed now if
it is going to cost so much
I had rather have the money
for other purposes say for
instance broken waggon
fills and the like of that.
you can bring it out when
you come if you think of it
money is not verry plenty
with me now. I was up the
road last night saw Hat
and Lide and Nell they are
well Hat and Lide say that
[page 2]
you owe them a letter. Joseth
Lovell had a spree the other
Night had a pretty good time
you had aught to have been
there and seen me hug Mrs
Shillin I done it up brown
Charlie and Mandy were
down and just as he was
going home Nell and Marcia
Tuttle got into his sleigh
to run away but he got in-
to and nell leave to Robertson
and back and when they got
off against Mr Nasens the
sleigh thought it the would try
the other side up and se how
it would woerk so over it
went and out went the
live stock forked end up
and away went the horse
about 240 for Pea village
but Georege Soule took after
[page 3]
him and caught him up there
by Titcombs and for a wonder
nothing was hurt nor no
battle called for. the sleigh-
ing is dunto but there is
any quantity of snow side
of the roads now but I guess
it will give us a chance to
go a maying you must come
out give my respects to Min
and take care of your self
and keep right side up. I am
going to put in a Note for
Mary Briant and if you se
her you may give it to her.
I should be happy to hear from
you again in the same way.
Orrin. Wm. Brackett.
