I take my pin in
hand to let you no
that I am well and
in good sperits
and hope these few
lines will find you
the same I rote at
Ship Island but did
not hav time to get

we left we left in the after noon
of the 12 and got to New
Orleans the night of the
14 and left the next
after noon and the
next morning run in
and took this place
and in the after noone

was glad to git on the
land altho I was not
a might sea sick at all
and Frank was not to most
of the Vilage boys was not
at all we hav bin a fixing
the brest works to day
some this after noon I
went to carey the pick
ets their diner and
when I was acoming
back I met a lot of the
navy boys and they
shot a Cow and I helped
them dres her and they
gave me a qarter of her
and we are a going to
hav it for breckfast in
the morning when
we came up the River
