I suppoes that things are very
quite at home I can say that
I am geting along miseley hear

we are plased betwen the cannell
and the potomac river the d = d
rebels are just the other side and
and tha fire rite at us but

have grate times we go
down the cannell and
go frew a ittle hole and go way
of in the woods and get some chestnuts
and the officers say to us whare
have you ben we tell them we
ben down in the woods Takeing
nap tha say that all rite
but you must not go off we go up
the too path about a ½ mile and see
rebels picet yard and talk with
them we tell them that we are
coming over their in a few days
tha say that rite tha fite for
us tha are most all
irrish and tha say that tha
Want to get in our regment

in about three weaks

We shell get to monts pay then
