Dear Sister, &
Dear Mother & so
I received your
Letter last night I
Was glad to hear from you
Once more I thought
that you was not going to
Write to me again so when
Lyman his letter I just
Sat down wrote you a letter in
that letter their was five $
Dollars perhaps you will
not like the reasoning that is it
but you must excuse me
for writing so I was mad
because I did not get a letter
you said that it was such
a pleasant day when you wrote

would write it is not
very plesant hear to day
it is raining very hared but
it is not very cold hear
Lyman has gorn to fredwarick
on buisness for capt Rice
he will not be back for one
weak perhaps more then
it is about forty miles he
goin from their to harpers
fary to look round and see
what he can see -

All i Can hear to day is
the rouring of connons and
guns I think that the
battle is near Dransville [2]
Gen McCall and his men
are makeing a moove I suppoes
their is no danger for my
being ing in it if you should
see any acount of it I wish you

will make fun of it
I sent home five dollars
in a letter last weak I
hope you will get it w
when you write to me
I wish you would send
me some postage stampes
we are going to camp this
after noon
