  My Dear Darling Sister
I resieved your
kind welcom letter this
morning I my God want I
Please to hear from home
once more your letter found
me in good helth but in low
spirits I will [well?] very lonesome
there is but a few men in the
Regt Wm Tapen is all that is
left out of the first that left
Attleboro I have not much near
to write this time I have writen
you too letters sence the battle
and one to Jim Cheever but
I have not resieved any answer

from them yet you did not
write as you had got eather
of them I got a letter from
Charles this morning he said
he had recieved a letter from
me I wrote very much the same
to him as I did to you I wrote
the first one to J Cheeve the to next
to you the Capt Buie got
a letter from Davis this morning
and one from Worrin Cheever the
Capt gave me the pleasure of reading
boath of them you wanted me to
get a furlough to come home but
think it will be in vane to
ask for one and I let you
know what luck I have in my
next letter I wish I had
some money to by me some
tobaco and some writeing paper
I am moast out of paper

I should like to ask
you if you have got any
money yet from the town treasure
if not you had better go and
see if there is any there
it is the money that Lyman
& me loted to you it will be sent
to the state
treasurer first & then to the
town treasure we sent $4000
Dollars I cannot think of much
news to write this time I wish
you would send me some
postage stamps and the next time
just let me now
you write  how all the folk are
and how the boys get along with
their haying and how the garden this yr
look how meny turkeys has
mr wood got now I suppoes you
have a plenty of whottle burryes
now I wish you would bottle some

Hurring true flags some that
they have red by tunder
I take a grate interrest
in reading and write how
Mr Hurring is geting along
and is slater to home now

tell him I will answer all
of them  give my love my
sweet love to Mrs Amous

will do for this time
