My Dear Sister
I recieved your
welcome letter last night your
letter found me in good helth
in return I hope these few lines
will find you all the same I have
not got any news of any importants
to write this time I wrote you a
letter day before yesterday and I
have not corlectted any more news
worth writeing sence but I thought
I must answer your letter as I
do not get one very often I feel
as if I must answer them all
and write too. to your one I doant
think you do a fair thing make
me write too letters to your one as

I have to pay one cent
a sheat for writing paper &
one cent a peace for envelopes
and as I do not have much
money to bye them with
I think you are wather hared
in makeing me write so meny
more letters then you do ...
O sister you must not take
any pride in what I write
for you know that I do not
mean all I write h-a-s
you said you wondering if I
had change any sence I left
home how can you think me
the same I have now been 1
year and too months in the
survice when I get home
I expect Mother will make
me eat to a table by myself
untill I learnt how to eat onc

more if you had meat
and potatoes cook I should
not want any knife & fork
to cut with I should have
to be watched when I went
to bed to see that I did
not get in to the bed with
my close on I have not
had my close off for a meney
night I should get lost
in a feather bed I doant
think the food that you
get to home would suit me
We get so meny diferant
Verrirtes in the armey in
the morning We get a cup of
coffee & crackers for dinner
we get a cup of skilleygerlle for
supper we get a nother cup of
coffee & 4 crackers in the morning
We get harde tack & coffee &
so on through the weak

more news this time
you spok a bout sending
the box you say Davis
thought it better not bee
sent now if you send
it now I doant think
there would be any trouble
in my geting it direct
it as I told you in my
other letter
