Dear Father and
Mother a[s] i have
nothing else to do
this afternoon i thou
ght i would wright
afew lines to let you know that
my health was though i think
i wrote in my last letter that
i had the Janders i am pret
ty sick with them now i
go over to the doctors every
morning though idont idont
think he knows that i have
got them he doces the quinine
into me i have got soar throat
and my neck is stiff
he gave me somthing to gule
in my throat and more

over he sed i had a bad
humor the climate dont agree
with me as well as som
there is a great deal of sick
ness here now the agre rages hard
now there is only one kind
of feavor here that is the
tifoid it is one way or the
other pretty soon there is
a holman in the hospittle
sick with afeavor i think
it is quite a chase ifhe com
es out a lice i beleive he is From
harvard the climate is ve[r]y
sultry i supose you have had
frot north we havent seen
enything of the kind i should
like som of them apples
& as for knews idont hear
now is there eny to the
north ishould to have you

they are few and far between

George Herrod bying out that
blacksmith is his family
live in harvard does he
say eny thing about me
ishould kinder liketer be
there to work for him
ihurd there was a camp

make his two dollars
a day pedling apples and milk
nuts and cakes and sider
and such things and now
i beleive i have written all
