Newbern NC Nov 9, 1862
Dear father and mother
I have intended to wright so as
to send one in every boat but
there has ben one boat gon since
i wrote but i hope this will answer
for them boath my health is
pretty good exceptting a bad cold
it is very cole wether out here
now it snowed a little the
other night how is your helth
and all the others i suppose
it is very cold there now and
some snow and are getting
settleed down for winter &
ireceived your letter stateing
that you had tent [1] box the[r?]
there was a express come in
here afew days since those
two felers that came out with
me had a box it made me

mad to think that mine
dident come but they say
there is a lot more coming
soon and ifit ant there
ishant think it is coming
i shall be glad when it does
come & now i send at this
time to have you send them
picturs put it into a box and
put it into the mail
farnsworth had some come so
they say that they can send
a carpet bag i dont think
of enything more so good
by till again wright often
