North Chelmsford. July 5th 1863
Dear Mother L.
I suppose you are looking ancious
ly for a letter either from John or myself.
Ao I will pen you a few lines to let you know
that John came to Chelmsford Saturday morn
ing. and if nothing happens more than we
know of now we shall probably come to
Groton Junction in the last train Tuesday
night (7th ). If it should be stormy at that
time we should wait and come in the
first train after the storm was over.
We are all confortably well here. only I
have got rather a bad cough. am in hopes
it will leave me soon. All send their
respects. We will leave the rest to Say when
