Deare wife heare i be in oald Va
Just come from dinner Peae suup
we can heare firring at distance
a Battle i think we hav had orders
move thare taken [2] down tents so i must
stop. Aug 28 thursday moring we have
mouaved a bout one mile Piched our tent
Larst night had meat soft bread & Coffee
and a Pie which i bought for six cts
a bought big as a teae Plate
we are a bout one mile abouve foart
Albany in Va. we have camped
in a clover field right back of
some boushes it is hot and dry here

we have Just got our Pants we got our caps
yesterday we had all to take caps
my Pant are to Long i want you
cut them of after i go ba[ck?] Vo H
was on guard from 9 oclock yesterday
to 9 oclock day i was on from 10 to 12
yesterday Last night 11. to 1 and 5 to 7
this moring we ar all in sighht
of the Capitol a bout 4 miles i should
licke boiled diner or shell beans
rigemients coming in and going our
one went from the other side
street a bout 11 oclock Last night
and a one a bout a quter of
mile of and one is camping there.
to day Campes are all about heare
i have Just ben to
wash in the brook about half
mile of[f] i Left my shirt to wash for
which i hav 5 cts i sent from
camp stanton my shirts with John
Rockmon you mist Part of the expences
i give Bartlett $ 8 dollars
