[Nov-Dec] (1862)

General news are scarce. We moved
from Greenwich here yestarday the Roads
wer very dusty, we have the Best of weather
this fall, here we have had but one
snow storm yet and that stay with
us but a little while, the Rebs say this
is an uncommon fall here,, Our Regt
is all together once more But the dismounted
men they are at Halls farm near
Washington or on the road there
I sold my horse this morning to the
Captain and was going back with the
dismounted men to get me another
horse, But our Regt wer ordered out
to Reconoiter to snickers gap and I
had to stay here and see to Biz while
they wer gone I traded Boots to day
and gave $6.00 to Boot,, Boots are
Boots here and they cost the spondulicks
Our dismounted men are to get horsees
at Halls Farms they will probley be there
about a week more less

We are in camp in the woods and
the devile him self could not find our
Regt it is all scattered and mixed in
with dutch Regt and every how O Yes!
I received a Very Kind letter from
Dick and Jule this even they acknowledge
the receipt of my letter some two weeks
ago yet in all that time they did not
get a leisure ½ hour to pen a poor
devile of a soldier a few lines in answer
to a letter that he probley set down on his
hunkers and wrote on a Rail or on his horse
and that when he is expecting every hour
to be called out to fight or on a long march
before he gets to his letter half [finished?] Well I will think
about writing to them probley I may get
Time to write to them but it May be
some time before well our Regt are orderd
out to night to go to New Boltimore
dark as dam the camp moves in the
morning I do not go to night with the
[???] I remain yours as ever Wm. Tell
