Potomac Station Va ’63
March 6th
I received your letter of the
26th ult. And also those socks
you was kind enough to send me
As to the three in a bed I think is
one to many. I will not [here?] you
for probley you got board. My opinion
is you done very wrong, ever I disposed
to quarrel with you I would certainly
do so now. You say Maria coax
you, have you no mind of your own
that you will do any thing is ask of you
no difference how improper,, better
stay at home if a cold bed will
induce you to such conduct as
this. I know I am away, probley
never to return, but for my sake I
trust you will conduct your self
respectively while I live, you probley
will not have to wait long to be free
then you can shape your course as you
chose if the boys knew this trick
[page 2]
of yours I would not dare look
up I would get slurs from all
points,, While I do live I want
to be Respected by my associates at
least,, so without ant farther
words I hope and trust you will
never be guilty of the same offence
or any thing of the kind
You will direct as
