Longe over two years colde or hot
wet or dry. the ground is my bead
my knapsack my pillow. I have sleapt
in all parts of Georgia whare the canon
roared day and night, on the second
day of January we went into South
Carolina there we wonderd through the
swomps and rivers till the fourth of
march we went in to North Carolina
we travled in her till the 24 and
landed at Goldsboro whare we are
now in camp to draw clothing and
suplies for the army

buley for Sherman and his
boys. sence we left Atanta we
halve travled near one thousand
mile s I halve walked the hole rout
in one pare of shoes they are about
gon now, how I want to come home
and see you all. it seams like an
age sence seaw home. the time is
come to wares slow to me I recon
it will come after while
keep in good heart childe
