Dear Cousin
I take up my pen in
order to let you know how
we are and how we geting along
Well we all are getting well
I have been sick for the
last ten days I had the
mump and as quick as I
got over them I took the
camp feaver I have been
very sick with it for a
week this makes two days
that I have been able to
be around I think in two
days more I will be able
for duty.
Well enough of this kind
of stuff
Well I hope these fiew
rough lines ma find

good health is on of the
greatest of blessings the human
famlie can injoy
You speak of apples and cider
well I wish I were there
to help you to eat them
I would like very much
to have drink of cider now
for I have not had any
since I left camp Lima
well perhaps I will get to
go home this winter and
then I think we will
do the apples and cider justice
you wanted know how we
get along well we get along
very well we have plenty
to eat and some straw to
sleep on.
We are very busy now buil
ding a fourt it will take us at least
four weeks to

you say you have no fun there
well I am sory to hear it but
I think iff I were there
I could injoy myself
we have had a very bad time
here it has rained for the
last three days and nights
the mud is about two inch
deep and it sticks like
glue but I think it is
over now
Well I think I have told
enough of this trash so
I must come to a close
your kind letter of the ninth
inst came safe to hand
last night I am glad to
hear that you are all
well you letter of the fifth
of october came safe to hand
about two weeks ago I guess
it got lost on the way
