Townsend Bridge
Dec. the 7TH 1862
Dear Cousin I take up
my pen once more in
order to let you know
how we are and where
we are. we are all well at
this time and I hope
that these fiew lines
ma find you all injoy
ing the same great blessins.
We are still at
the old Townsend bridge
but I cant tell how
long we will be here
perhaps all winter and
perhaps not a week
I think perhaps we
will stay some time
as capt Stone is apoin
ted Provost martial of

Berben County that
is the County just
over the Creek from where
we are quartered
It has been some time
since I have received
a letter from you therefore
I thot it was my duty
to write first again
We are injoying our selves
very well here today
this morning we went
on the ice on the river
and cot some fish I
cot the large some of and
fish and it wayed about
half an ounce some of
the boys cot a fine
mess of them
Now Jane as you want
ted I know when we would
come home. Well I cant
tell when we will get

to go home but
I think that we
will get home about
Newyears day but you
need not look
for us until you see
us I received a letter
from AP Richoff on
the fifth inst
and one from Uncle Liew
last night he has been
home for amonth an
a sick furlow he talks
resigning his office he
is a lieut in the 88th
Ind regiment
I alsow received a letter
from Ann Armstrong
on last Friday She Stated
that they were all well
I must bring these
fiew scatering remarks
to a close So I add
