June the 8th 1863

Dear Cousin
I take my pen
in hand once more in order
to adress you a fiew lines
although I have writen but
I dont think It will be any
harm to write again
I have not got a letter
from any of my relatives for
more than a week and I
have not got one from you
for three weeks I suppose
they are not worth answering
well I know they are not

hardly worth answering but as
long as I get one for two
of mine I am satisfyed
the last time I rote to you
I sent you my likeness but
it was not a good one the
Digurrian is seting up
now in Camp if he can
good ones I will send you an
other one and if you can
get a chance to get yourstaken
I want you to send it to me
for I would like very much
to see how you look by this
time There is three more
of our boys going home on
furlough this week but none
from our neighborhood I think
there will one from our nei
ghborhood go the next time
but noboty knows who it will
be I would like very much

to go but there is not much
chance for there cant but three
go at a time and that will
be slow work

Capt Stone went to the
City to day he went down
for to get some clothes he
wants to cut a large swell
We went a suirrel
hunting yesterday that is the
first suirrel hunt we ever
had on sunday we had lots
of fun but we dident kill
but one suirrel and I killed
it with John McGees revolver
I tell you he was good eating
Well we are all well and
harty and injoy our selves
first rate we have very good
fair and and not much
to do we only drill three
hours per day we drill

from seven to nine in the
morning and from five
to sic in the eavening we
only drilled one hour this
morning and then we had to
build a stone fense around
our boys graves it took us
all two hours

Well I must close
I hope these fiew scralls
will find you all as well
as they leave us
I add no more but
remaine your Cousin
until death
