     Dear Joseph it is with pleasure I take this 
time to to inform you that I and the 
Children are well hoping when these fiew 
lines comes to hand they may find you 
in good helth 
     Bob And [Ike?] has got the measles 
the rest of the folks is well 
              I Call the boy Joseph Shereman 
I will get the minatures as soon as I can 
but I cant send them till I get an nother 
litter from you that I may know where 
to Send them. 
I looked for you all the week that I was at 
John Protsmans ,  un till I heared you was goen   [1]
I started in on Sunday when you was 
first called on to leave but I heared that you 
was not going and it raind so that I stoped 
I wanted to see you so bad before you 
went away 
I did not know that you was going till 
you was goen or I would have come in 
if I would have had to Walked every Step 
of the way  Emma looks at your likeness evry 
day and says poore Joie in camp

I wanted to come in that week that I was 
at John Protsmans  but he went to cincinnatia 
and I could not   Bell has had the sore throat 
but she is bout well now 
take good care of your self and try and 
get home a gain   I would like to see you 
come home once more to stay 
  Write your next alittle Plainer than you
