presant time hoping thees few Lines

and fear that sum of you are Cild
or wounded in the fight that you
now are in I Shall hav A sad
hart till i hear from you All i hope
it will Bee the will of god that you
All May Cum out Clear and
Cill Every dam rebbel that is
on the face of gods earth i hear that
our solderes is A fighting at vickes Burg
and Murferes Burrow and sum other
place that i dont rember But
hope it May Bee the Last time that
rebbeles May Bee found on this side
of hell old velandinham [1] was A
Arestid yester day and taken to
Cincinnata for safe Ceeping thare was
fore Men taken up for talking treeson
in this state and tha had thare triel
and one of them is fined 3 theusand
dollars and has to sat in gail till the
det is paid and one of them will Bee
hung temorrow and the other too
is to Bee shot tumerrow the 8 of
this Munth tha will Bee Excuted
at Cin[?]us on sum iland thare

Last weak hee said

got Better Joseph dilce your
famley is well and if your are one
of the Lucky ones when that fight
is over send Mee All of the
potickleres of the fight
this Letter is for Joseph dilce
and John Milledge
the wether is wet and Cold
i hav finished plowing for Corn
tu day i hav 30 Akeres for Corn
i sent George A Letter to the
ridgment Before i new that he
was At the hospitel with ten
postedg stamps in it and if it Cumes
to the ridg ment you and joseph may
Lift it and use the stampes
i hante Much to wright
