April the 18th /64

Dear sister mary
About three weeks ago I rote aletter to you
in it I told you about Jo being captured
I want you to rite and tell
me if you got my letter or not
I am as well as comon I hav
got very bad could bob is well
I hope that this letter will find you
all well I hav had onley three letters
from home since I left there it seames
to me that you are all very
slo in riting when you rite
I want you to tell me when
you got the letter that I sent
to you I hav not got much
time to rite but however I will rite
as long as I can the weather
here is very disagreeable and unregular
it rains most all the time
we had two large frosts

last weak I thot that we
was agoing to hav afine
crop of peaches but I am
afraid that the frost has
killed them I hurd from
Jo the next day after he was
captured he said that he
was in good hands he said
that he was used well but
still he would sooner be with the
regt well mary I blieve
that I hav riten all that I can think
of to day and I hav
got to get ready for
inspection so I will close
please answer this as soon
as you can nomore at
preasent from your affection
