Harts Grove Feb 9/62

Dear Brother I
Received your letter the other
day but could not send any out
till to morrow. so to day I
thought I would write you a
few lines to let you know
that I am well & hope these few
lines will find you the same
Well I was over to
orwell last Sunday they were
all well I James & Phepe[??]
were writing to you & Jims
Mother & the rest of the folks are
well Philander Wolcott was
to home sick with the Jaundice
but was going back this week
.. Last night I heard about
Charles Jinkins death he was
Buried in Messpo [1] last Thurs

day his funeral sermon was
preached in Windsor

You said you had left at note
at whitneys do you want I should
get that 5.25 out of it if you do
the next time I go home I will
see a bout it
Well I have got some
news for you & the Harts Grove
boys, Leverett Grover has
Resined his commision
in the 29th Regt & come home
he pretends to have been sick
but he haint no more than
I am.. Well he came home & made
a long face a bout the matter
but it wont do his best fri[ends?] [2]
have left him even old Dr
morgan.. let the boys
know it they came pretty near
calling an indignation
Meeting but he gets H---LL

in every corner good for
him for he stayed till they
had got just where they needed
him when he left.. so much
for Lev Grover the
C-----d he took $ 5.80 from
uncle Sam without doing any
thing for it.. I will write more
next time.
