Camp Franklin near falmouth

March the 2 1863
Dear Brother Cyrus
I take my pen in
hand to let yo know
that I am well at
present Hoping these few
lines will find you
in the same state of
Health I let you
know that I received
your most welcome letter
and was very glad
to hear from you and
to learn that you are well
and I am glad that
you received that money
peter told me that my
Father wrote me two letters
and I received none of
them the wether is

fine at present but it
was very rainy last week
I was over to see peter
last sunday I took dinner
and supper with him
and syrus engle and
Isaac Bentz and they
want me to list [1] in
their company after I
am free here Tell me in
your next letter wether
I shall come home or list
Brix and kroun and
William Eckert are about
four miles from us but
John kurry died in the
hospitle in alaxandria
I must now come to a
close write soon
