Dear father and mother
I take my penn in hand
to inform you a few lines
To Let you know that i
I am well at Preasand
Hoping those few lines
May find you all in
The same state of good
Hels and i received your
kind Letter and was glad
To heer that you are all
Well and i want to write
Every Day since Bud i Dident
Get no chance until this
Day Because i am on Duty
Most every Day we are
Guarding they Rail road
From manases to Bull run
Bridge and we have
Watch them Buchwackers
Day and night or else they

would Destroy the rail road
They Wounded both of our Col.
A few weeks ago the Doctor
took Colenel Harding arm off
right away i am sorry for
our old Colenel i will also
Let you know that i received
A letter from Brother Peter
Hee states that he is enjoying
In good hels [2]and there are
Encamed at Culpeper and
Further i let you know
That our Boys are Reenlisting
Again Like forty their is
27 was sworn in yesterday
For 3 years or sooner shot
All of my company they
Is only a few left i and

Go mother was wandering
Weather we got enough to
Eat yes we get Plenty to ead

From soft boards we live
