Dear Respectable Wife i have taking the present opper
tunity to drop you Afew lines to inform you that i
Am Well and i hope that these few lines May
fined you in the Same State of good Health further
i Will inform you that i received your Effectun
ate letter this evning Wich is the 2 of April and
you rote it on the 28 of March it Come in A
hury and i got one the same time from William
and Sarras dunkel and lis [2] kyten i got hat [3]
once yours and theirs and rite before i got one from
Aaron now i Will not Say much About Aaron
but i Will Send you his letter wich he Sent to
me from Allexandria Va then you Can See Wh
at he Says to me and See Where he is and i Can
not help him one bit i told the Captain and he
sed that they Will Send him to us but he is
not herd yet and nou it is the 2nd of April and
he is not here yet so no more of this further
next monday William Enders is Comming home
And i Will Send 22 dollars With him
to [Jurys?] and you Will go there and git it
And use it As you pleas And if mother is
in need of money give her As much as she
Wants and tell her that i sed so if she
Wants money you give her some further my love
i hope that you do not undertake to go out
and Work i hope that you Will stay at home
if you do What little work there is at home
is Anuf [4] for you for this summer for mother
is giting old and it goes hard With her for to
Work So now do as i tell you my Sake do
Stay At home and do not Work more than is
good for you for if you do maby you Will

rite to often to me rite and if it [done?] Cost
paper and send me more Stamps for i am in dept
Sorry for it Some time before i Come home if
some thing happens With you i dont Want you to
go out to Work as long as you bear my name
for i Can Support you And you are to Weak
for to go out to Work and you Are not healthy
anuf for to Work hard or for to do much so
stay At home and take good Care of your
self for you know and i know What you are
to me you are a kind Wife to me and i love you
And have feelings for you further they are
listing [4] the men All that Wishes to list out
of our regment and they are to have 50 dol
lars bounty and to serve 3 months more after
our time is up i suppose you dont Wish
me for to list to them for 3 months longer
if i list nou i Can go home for 30 days and
git 50 dollars bounty and 13 $ amonth i think
that the most of our regment Will list for to
Stay here for 50 $ is good besides 13 dollars
Amonth Will make 80 $ more until the last
of September Whe would be free but i think
that Aaron Will not see you or his Wife
for 2 years after this if Aaron Comes to me i
Will rite home and let you know So now i Will
Close for this time But tell Andrew J Sw
eiguard if he dont Want to rite to me he
shal let me know for i rote 2 letters to him
And i got none of his yet maby he did not
rite yet that money you Can git next Saturd
ay 22 dolars i Will send you So no money for
this time i do not no much for to rite for this
time But maby the next time more to you
