Dear Wife i have seated my Self with my pen in my
Rite hand and pleasure in my Vein For to drop you A
few lines to inform you that i am Well nou again And
i hope that i may Stay in Good Heath From here Nou
i Will Answer your letter Wich i Just Received
yesterday the 23 And day before that Got the
Box the box Came to me at Friday i think the 22
And the letter on Saturday Nou i Will tell you
hou the things Came to us there Was 4 of the Eggs
Broke that Was all and they Were only Cracked and
the pie And Cakes Was All Just as they Where put in
And the Butter Crock Was Broke in 6 or 7
peices just the butter Was all nice and So it Cam
e to us in A nice Condision And it Was not opene
d i Suppose youens thaut that you would Just
As Well as not Send Anuf to do us While
you was at it for to last us till Whe would Come
home you Sent A Verry large and nice And Good
Box to us it is the Best Box of things that i have
Seen Sent to Yorktown yet But i Want you to tell
me if you Was baking at home or if katy done the
Baking at her own home or Where youens did Bake
Further i am Just as Well Satisfied With those
old suspenders as if you had Sent new ones for they are
prety Good yet And they Will last me until i Come
home And So you did not spend any money for new
ones And there fore i will not scold you for such A
thing As that for you done Just as you thaut
Best to do for me And So Every thing is rite
Further i Suppose youens thaut youens better

Send pills And Sweet oil youens thaut if whe

draws 1 [Cordian?] 1 Coffee Sack And A Coton
few old rags And Stockings that Was All
Further i Got that honey And you need not Send me
Any more unless i Send to you my dear for Some Further
Aaron Got A letter from isac Sweiguard And he
Sed that he Was at Halifax When youens Was And he
Sed that youens Was down harted And full of trouble
he sed that youens Sed that youens Was afraid that
Whe would not git home Any more And i Will
tell you my dear i am Sorry to hear that you are
down harted And have Such thauts as that that you
Are Afraid that Whe dont git home nou do for git
those thauts And live on Good hopes As i do i am
not in danger yet And i dont think that i
or Any of us Will See Any battle atall for the
Solgers Are going home thousands of them And
So they Cant fite nou until they Git more
men And they had A hard fite About 3 or 4
Weeks ago And Whe had A hevy loss And So
nou they must fill up those Regments Sos they
Can fite Again And that Will Go nearly 2
months yet there fore i think i Will Git home
unless i Git Sick And die here but if i dont git
Sick or in Battle i am Sure to Git home by
the Good lords help Further Aaron he is Well and
he is in Good cheer And playing the fife still But
him And Bresslen Cant Agree atall for Aaron
he has his own head And Bresslen Wants to rule
him And that he wont Stand that Sos he wont
for he is spunks And i dont like Bresslen myself
