At home
It is sunday eve and
I find myself writing to
one who I adress as Brother
I was over there last sunday
but did not see you I saw
Omer had a short visit with
him I suppose you are enjoying
yourself fine this summer
at least I hope so
At last the war is ended
and our Boys are comming
home crowned in Jewrels
all rejoice even as I gaze on
the southern skyes they also
rejoice as the fleecy clouds
come towering up and bend
their reverent heads all in
one Shout comes echoing back
one shout of joy extends all over peace

may God bless them and may
peace ant plenty be ever theirs
We have lots to do on sunday
here Meeting sunday school and
Sing is not that enough for
such warm weather
Know I want you to send
your likeness soon and answer
this as soon as received for I want
to know how you get along
Where are you agoin to attend the
forth I wish you a happy time

We are expecting Lethuel home soon
there has several got home from
this place I suppose you have heard
of that riott in Troy It is horible
it seems as though they wer
perfectly recless and did not fear
Death in the least
I heard you was agoin to Marry
shure this fall but I do
not believe all I here
