Camp Suffolk Virginia
Dear Sister
I received your goods
To night I got three bundles
of Sausages and two bags of
Apples and some butter
And two package of pies and
eight papers of tabacco and
A Spung cake and I think
that is all and I must say
that I am wery thankful
for it
I forgot to tel you that I sent
my quilt to Erwinna [1] with
Levi Hoffman from Camp
Camp philadelphia
And we also sent A box
from Camp Suffolk to
Erwinna and I have it. West [2]
and A pair of drawers in
it with my name on it

And it was directed to
Samuel. Sthar. and the
quilt that I sent from Camp
philadelphia with Hoffman
was to be left with James
Williams and plese let
me no weather you got
it or not
I must tel you that we
Stil lay at Camp Suffolk
but we are under marching
orders I think that we will
leive in A day or two
my tent mates and I are
All well and I hope that these
few lines may find you and
all the rest of my frends
the same
& now I must bring my
Letter to A Close for it
is bed time but I must
tel you that them apples
