Camp Near Beaufort Sout C
Dear sister I received your last letter to day
dated aprile the 19 with much plesure you stated
in you letter that Mr Gray was brout home buried with the
honours of war I must tel you that it is a hard
stroke for his belovid wife I must state to you
that I received them five Dollars what Lavina
Sent to me and I also received them five
Dollars that Fishler sent to me I must
State to you that I very glad that you reciived
that letter of mine about the accident and
as you stated you showed it to mr warman
I Must state to you that the captain of
Company A shot an aligater Mesering six
feet six inches this was quite A sight for
Some of the Men and about my dog Joseph
it was A bad lookout but if he is home that
is anuff I must state to you that I havent
been right well sence the tenth of last
aprile I went in the regments
hospittal on the 10 of aprile and was thare
one week and then the Docter told me that
I was well Enuf to go back to My company
and I went back to the Company and have
been with the company ever since without
doing Anny duty but I am stil increasing
and think by the next letter that I send home
I may be well and harty and with these
few lines I will bring by letter to a Close my
best respects to you and all requiring
frends
