Dear Sister I take this
present opertunity to write
a few lines to you to let
you know that I am well
at presant and I sinsearly
hope you are enjoying the
Same good blessing. we have
been marching for seven
days last night we reached
this plays and to day we layed
Still it was Snowing all
day and it was verry Cold
last night there is quite
a little Snow on the ground
we are a bout 12 miles
from Bulls Run now
the 129 Regt is a bout
a hald mile from our
Camp there was a good
many of the boys here

Samuel Faust is
geting along verry well
but Charles Hendricks
is in the Hospitle and
Jerry Messersmith thay
left behind to he was
not able to follow them
up thay wasent in now
fight yacht we heard the
Cannons everry day but
we havend been near
the fight yacht there are
agread many Soldiers
here but I think this
wether will stop us
from this traveling
we exspect to get in winter
quarters before long
I received aletter from you
some times a goe and I have [not?]
answerd it yacht and
so I thought I would

Cousin Rosey tell her I sent
my Best respects to her
I would like to be there
with yous you must write
to me and tell me all

in Mahanoy tell me
if Shutt and Reaber are
in mahanoy yacht ant
tell them I sent my best

them I would write to
them if they are there

to mother and tell her
that I was getting a long
verry good I think

she made an awful sour
face at the yanks

we will go in winter quarters
