Dear Mother
I received your kind
and ever welcomed letter
and I was verry glad to
hear that yous was all
well and I am thankful
for the stamps you Sent
to me thay are a verry
pracious thin[?] here I Could
get five sents for each
three cents stamps If I
had a hundred of them the
Mesenger I havent received
yacht the letter I received
this morning yester day we
was on picket and there [??]
I come acrost a Comesary
where I bought two pound of
dried appels and one pound
of Shugar and one pound
of Crackers that was my

Cristmus dinner we are
getting prety good bording
now we had a half barrel
of potatoes yesderday for our
Company and to day we
each had three appels that
the Citezens of Pottsville Sent
to us this morning I bought
a Small loaf of bread
for twenty cents it was enough
for one meal that was
the first bread that I eat
for two month or more
I got payed last Sunday
and I have sent eleven dollars to
Sol and I am agoing to sent
ten dollars to you and if
So wants it to invest
at the house give it to him
if you dont neet it but
if you want it keep it
I have got five dollars more
to sent but I dont like

for fear it might get
lost Soloman rote to me
that Hill was a going
to furnish money to finish
the hows I dont know how it
is if there is any thing to
pay yacht you Can pay it
and you Can pay for the
lot and get the [lees?] and
if I Come back Safe I

not to Come back any
more you Can do with
the property what you pleas
if I do Come home
a gain I Spose we will
live togather again
the new house I think
the lord will keep me
safe to Come home again
and if not I hope we

the rebells against heaven
will haf to Stay in the
forsts of punishment
where they Cant part us

any gloves to me them that
you sent to me I havent used
much yacht the weather
is verry warm now yesder
day 25th it was like
Summer and box you
Cant Sent there is no
express that Comes here
and so you neetent bother
your self about it but
I would like to have a
little thread black and
white you can out a
little in a letter
