Dear Mother I received your kind letter and
I was verry glad to hear from you and to
hear that you are all well I am still enjoying
good health and I hope you are [??] enjoying
the same good blessing. we are still at
this side of the river but I think we are
to move but where to I do not know but
I think we are a going to follow the enomy
I received A letter from Sarah and Catharine
thay also sent two papers and some thread
and needles I have got plenty of them articles
now for a while when I received your
letter this morning I was busy patching my
britches this morning I got a letter and
some sosage about two pound a friend from
Hamburg seent it to me with Bill
Fritz one of our recruiting officers. we draw
Flower now for our rations we bake cakes of
it we draw eighteen ounses for one day it
is a little bother but I like it better then
hard tacks we haye got plenty to eat now aldo [1] it
hand [2] any to good last weak I bought some
apples three small apples for 25cts.
I am agoing to sent [3.00?] Dollars to you yacht
I think we will get payed soon again for two
month about the fifteenth of this month.
Dear Mother you thought I had forgoten you but
I had not and never will. and If I Cant
see my friends on this world I hope I will
meet them all in heaven where there will be
no more parding I would like to see my
friends ons again I hope this rebellion may
be Crushed before long aldo there are verry

poor prospects yacht our soldiers are
verry much dis Couraged about this
slavery busnis thay all say thay would
not fight for the slaves all the Connels
of the regiment where orderd to make
a speech to there soldiers and incourage
them again. our Connel H L Cake is
on his way home he is a going to stay one
month I dont know much to
write this time you must write again
and tell me if you got the money
you must pray much for me
and I will pray for you I still
