about my property if
I Should happen not
to come home any more
Mother shall have every
thing that I wown [2] and

likes we are all dying
people we know not wen
our time is up it may
be to day yacht all we
know but if we keep
faithfull dying is
mearly chaingeing
[page 2]
worlds for a better home
you asked me if I had that
paper yacht that you sent
to me I have it yacht
and I know it by hard [3]
also I think it hand [4] of
much account it may
perhaps do good the best
thing is to call upon
the Lord in time of need
and he will help us all
and I have got another
paper it is a letter that
Jesus Christ rote and droped
it in the woods we call it
in Jerman himmals [5]
breaf I have got a strong
faith in that:
you also asked me what
I thought of the war my
openion is this that this
war is sent by our Lord
and if the People are
[page 3]
punished enough onst
for ther national sin
then it will soon be
settled and another thing
it is for to distroy
slavery which must
be fullfild and will
be do you or anyone els
call this a free country where
thay keep human beeings
as slaves or beests I
used to be for to keep
slavery where it was but
not further but I am Just
now seeing the wicketness of
the thing which gives me
a diferand openion agread many
of our soldiers are cursing the
negroes and that we was fighting
for them but that is nothing
thay will be freed any how
and any man that has a
feeling for others soles must be to put it down
[page 4]
I must now come to a
close or I will get you tired
reading I sent my love
to Hannah Keller and tell
her that I would like to
see her onst and I also sent
my compliments and best
