Camp near Brandy Station Va..
Dear Sister
I received your kind and
wellcom letter a few days
ago and I was verry glad to
hear from you and to hear that
you are all well. I am
well at presant and hope
these few will find you
all the same. I have sent
two letters to mother with
money in and havent
received no answer yacht
and I will sent five
Dollars to you in this letter
we had orders to march
this morning at daylight
but the orders was Countermantet
till further orders I spose it
was countermantet on the
account of the rain it

commansed to rain this
morning about .6.o.Clock
now I dont know wen
we will start I spose as
soon as the weather gits
better. we got to carry five days
rations of hardtacks and coffee
and Sugar and three days
rations of pork.
I had a good dinner to day
H.J. Eveland bonks with me
and he got a box sent to
him by express with sosage
and spunch Cake and other eatibles
I havent got much time to
write this time perhaps Ill have
some news of the Rapidan
till [1] I write again. you must
write soon again and
give me all the news of
Mahanoy so no more at
presand a so much from your
