Camp near Brandy Station Va.
Dear Sister I
received your kind and wellcom
litter about one week ago
and i was verry glad to
hear that you are all well
I have also received the Postage
Stamps that you sent to
me you must excuse
me for not writing sooner
for I have been verry busy
the last seven or eight
days I have been painting
our Brigade wagons I have
paintet about twenty nine
wagons.
we are still encampt at
our old plaise and there
is verry little news of any
account going on here
I scaresely know what to write

perhaps Ill know more
to write so no more at
presant so much from your

Dear Mother
I tak the
presant opertunity to write
a few lines to you for it
has been long ago that I wrote
to you last. and the reason
of it was sister Rosey used to
write all the letters. but
I think it is my duty to
write to you for to any one
els in the world.
Dear Mother I am enjoying
very good health at this presant
time and I hope these few
lines will find you the same

we have had some verry cold
nights here thees last few
weeks but to day it was
verry nise and warm. we had
orders to march the day it
commansed to snow and yet
cold but the orders were
countermantet I think if
we would have startet we
would have found some
tough times.
Some [?] of our Regt
has reanlistet and are
coming home on a furlow
I would have reanlistet but
I couldent for I wasent
long enoug in service
So no more at presant write
Soon for I am always anxious
to hear from you Dear Mother
