Camp near Midletown Va Oct 17th 1864
Dear Mother
I will write a few lines to let you
know that I am well and also hope you are
enjoying the same good blessing. I have some
money to sent to you I will sent twelve
Dollars in this letter and ten in the next
letter if you can do it I would be
verry much obliged to you if you would
Send me two pair of Sock and one pair
of gloves So no more at presant
Dear mother pray for me and
I will pray for you
I remain your affectionate
