Washington City
Monday June 5th 1865
Dear Mother
I will write a fiew
lines to you to let you
know that I arrived
Safe at Washington from
Burkesville we have
had a long march
a distance I think of
about two hundred
miles I stood the march
verry well exsepting the
two first days wen
we left Richmond
I was a little sick
and hardly able to march
aldo I stuck to
it and got all right
again

we passed thrue Fredricksburg
we encampt on our
old battle field
there where I was in
the first fight over
two years ago I Saw
some of the skelitens
of men in our company
that was killed there
and never was burried
Dear Mother I think
this is the last time
I need to write to you
for I exspect to get
home now in
a verry short time.
one Pennsylvania Regiment
of our Division is
going to start for home
to morrow morning

we are agoing to
have a review of our
Corps this week and
after that is over we
will start they are
makeing our papers out
now to thischarge us
I think i will soon
close my letter for it
is so warm here that
a fellow cant hardly
write please write soon
direct your letter as usual
but if you write
any more after the
answer to this direct
to Co G. 95 Regt P.V.
for I think I will
go to my Company Soon
