i take my pen in
my to let you know that
i am all well at presend
and i hope this few lines may
find you in the same State
of good health. And futher
I let you know that i reciv
your leter and I was very
glat to hear from you and that
you ar all so well at pesind
And futher I le[t] you know
that we hav to move
agen we march bout 25 miles
left Petersburg and thare we
lay 4 days and thar i was
one day and night on pickets
one then we march 5 miles
futher up now we lay bout 2
miles from Petersburg and as
