Dear Wife
I received your letter of the 6 I felt
loansome and wished for home when your
letter told me you had ben sick altho
it stated you was better I have been trying
to Comfort my self by earnestly praying
every day to almighty God that he may
restore your helth and the Childern I am
far a way from you and my hart is
at times troubled thinking you ma
be sick and need my help and I Cant
be thare to Comfort you or due enything
for your Comfort when praying for
you I feel that God will take Care
of you my dear wife and little childern
till this troublesome war may end and
God may spare me to get home safe to
you once more I still desire an intrust
in your prayer I no you pray much for
me I thank God I am well at this time
and hope this may find you and the childern in good health
it is verry plesant here to day altho
a glumy Cloud hang over us at this time

We have plenty of exercise here
we drill squad drill in the morning
Company drill at 10 am petalion
drill 2 Pm dress parade 5 Pm
meal Call 9 oclock at night and
every 4 day out on picket you must
excuse my bad riteing and spelling
I rite a few lines and then go on drill or
something elce it is not here like at
home to set down and rite I take
it all in good hart hopeing to get home
this somer sometime and all will be
well I will send 6 dollars that wont
pass here and you make youse of it the first
you need if I need eny before I get money I will
send for a little this will pass at home and
let me no in your next if this Come to hand
I must Close it is nearly 9 oclock
I now give you my dear wife and Children
in to Gods Care he will take of you and
Comfort in all your troubles he takes of me
here amidst trouble and difficulty nothing more
