Dear wife I received your fift
letter rote Aril the 8 and i was very glad
glad to hear you and the Children are
all well I hope you may remain so I am
still well I thank God for it and I
feel very thankful to God that you
are well once more I was uneasy and
prade much every day for you that
God mite restore your helth agin
all I Can due for you is to pray and
trust to God to take[care] of you and I feel
shore he will watch over you and me
and bring me safe home to you I think
it will be a happy day to me when I shall
get home to see you and the Childern
once more I pray daily that God may
order the time soon we must still
have good faith all things will Come
right I am glad Marth is so kind to you
and does the work that Can take care
of your self I thought they wood
all be kind to thare mother when I

your dear Mother and obey here
in all things God loves little
Childern that will obey there
Mother saturday evening the 22 we was
orderd to sitty point from Peters burg
and tuesday we went from
Fortress monroe to norfolk and
we dont nou how soon we leave
here maby this afternoon and ma
by not I think they have no
no place for us eny more they
had better send me home if you
Can find a place for me I have
not much to rite and not much time
every thing is upside down
nou Mollie you take good Care of
your self this somer dont work
out eny it you are not well and [it = if]
keep [M?] the Cildren to help
you at home nothing more I give
you in Gods Care good by your
