Dear wife I set down this
afternoon to write you a line I
am well and hope this may find
you enjoying the same blessing
I got no letter from you [???]
I wrote last week I looked for
One today it dident come I
Look for one to morrow or next
Day I am anchious to hear if
Your money got home safe
I sepose you wood like to know
something about me comeing
home we are orderd to be mustard
out immediately and discharged
the order to leave here tomorrow
and go to Philadelphia or harris
burg I am not shore which place we
will go but it dont matter so we
get discharged soon I wish to get
home soon if possible it is no mis
take this time I hope

I think if God spares me
I will get home in 10 or 15 days
after this letter comes home
we mite be detained a few days
longer then I think but I hope
we may not be kept back long
eny place I wish to go strate home
when we get started this you
can relion the report being true
this time we boxed up hour
close and sent them yesturday
so we will not have much lode
to carry I bought two wollen
blankets and sent them and
my oald pants drawers and blouse
and the red sirt I brought from
home and hat they may not
be taken home till we get
home I hope and trust this
may find you all well and
in good hart I am in good
hopes to get home before
long altho the time will seem
very long

I think our solger bisness
Is plade out here and I am
glad of it I think I will soon
get home now I am glad to
come home to stay if I get
home safe I needent go back
eny more that incoura[g]es me
very much I pray and trust
in the lord he will take
care of me and bring me
safe home to you where I long
to be the wether has ben
pleasant here for some days
past we was releved to day
we dont dew enymore duty
if we dont hafta lay two long
some place to wate for our
discharge I hope we may get
along spedy I feel shore I
will get home safe the lord
has taken care of me so far
and he will bring me home
safe to my dear wife and childern
this I pray for every day

to me if I get home safe
and you will be glad I know
that I needent to leeve home
in a few days and come
back to this rebel country

still pray for my safe
return the lord is answering
our payers and he will still
hear us if we still pray in
faith and put our hole
trust in him he is abel
to keep us well and bring
me home safe to you
I havent much to write
time when I get home
I can tell you [???] I must
close I give you in Gods care
he will take care of you and
bring me safe home to you
