My Dear Beloved Wife
it is with Pleasure that I
take my penn in hand to inform you that I
am still amongst the land of the living and futher
I am well at presant time and I hope that
when these few lines reaches you that it May find
you all injoying the Same Blessing and futher I received
your kind letter yesterday and was verry glad to hear
from you that you was all well you had in your
letter that My aunt was Dead I am verry sorry to
hear it But we al have to Die Some Day and you
said that old Jimmy Springer wife was Dead to
is gimmy Springer watching on the railroad yet
I wish you let me no how he is getting a long and the
rest of the railroaders John loxley and Harry Paul you
wrote to Me that all had listed I am sorry to
hear it I tell you that he will Be sorry for it
More than most he had no need to go he was
not in the Draft if he had Benn in the
Draft I would not have Blamed him for going But
he can do as he Pleases for my Part But he will ru
it More than a thousand times he had a good home
and a good Father and A good Mother two him
he dos not now how good he has it at home But
he will find it out Before he is in the army one
year we have it nice Solgern here were we are
But not in front of Peters Burg I gess it aint
so nice

you said that uncle wash had a notion to
list in your letter and you had in that
there was eight or ten More had listed you can
can tell uncle wash that I wrote him a letter
I dont no wether he got it or not he Did not
write Me an answer enny how I gess he Dosent
Care for Me enny More But you can tell him
that I am well you wrote to Me wonst that
christ miller and ira keller and gim Martin had
Been taken Prisnors is it correct or not I would
like to no it the Boys are all well in this company
Horris liften Barger is coming home in a cople of Days
I will not get home on the fifteenth of this Month
I Dont no what Day of the Month I will get
home you will See me when I come But it wont
Be Menny weeks till I come So I think I
will Bring My scribling to a close So no More But
