My Dear Beloved Wife
it is with Pleasure that I
set My Self Down to Drop you a few lines
to inform you that I am still a mongst the
land of the living and futher I am well at
the Presant time and I hope that when these
few lines comes to hand that it May find
you all injoying the Same Blessing you stated
in your letter that alph had listed I would
like to no what reigment he is in and what
Company so i Can write to him Sometimes
I would like to see him a Bout two Months
after this I Bet he would say it isant
quite as nice as he thought it would Be to Be
a Solger I am verry Sorry to hear that he
went in the army he wasant in the Draft
if he had Been in the Draft I would not
have Blamed him for listing But he has
listed now he will have to Be Sadesfied for one
year there is only one thing about Solgern
that I Dont like I can tell you that
When I come home other ways I like it Bully
I am fat raged and Sassy I am getting
as lazy I Dont Beleive that I can work enny
More I am getting like John roofis Boy
two fat for to work the Boys are all well
at Presant only George Hamiltone he has
the yellow ganders But he is pretty near over
them

there is verry cold wether up here there is a
Hepp of Snow the Snow in Places is Drifted from
5 to 6 feet Deep we was out on Scout the other
night and we had to throw Down the fences
and go through the fields it was verry cold
we pretty near frose and last night we was out
a gain we fetched three prisnors last night we went
a Bout 50 miles last night at one place they would
not leave us in and I told them to open the
Door and they Said they wouldent Doit and I
I took the But of My rifel and I hit the
Door twist and Bursted it in But the man
was not in that we wanted But the woman give
us a good Blaggarding and we went to the next
House and we went in there and as soon as
we got in the Door she said here is them
Damed Blue Bellied yankies a gain and she
gave us one of the Best Blaggardings we had yet
we are going to Chambers Burg on the 22 of this
month to have a Perrade for to exercise our
Horses I will get to see uncle fred then
uncle fred was well the last time I heard from him
so I think I Better Bring My Scribling
to a close so no More But still remain
